Hi friends 👋

When I started this newsletter half a year ago, I didn’t fully know what I was getting into.

I just knew I wanted to finally start publishing for myself, not just for clients.

Since then, this newsletter has become one of my favorite parts of the week.

5 Lessons From 25 Weeks of Publishing

1. People aren’t as judgmental as you think

I used to overthink starting a newsletter. Even posting on LinkedIn.

What will people think? Will they unsubscribe? Is this even good enough?

But once I started showing up, I realized something:

People are waay more supportive than you expect.

The ones who stick around genuinely want to hear what you have to say.

And the ones who don’t? They won’t be in your inbox anyway.

That’s the beauty of it.

And the feedback from those who do read and find value gives you the best kind of fuel to keep going.

Before I started, I thought, “But what do I even have to say?”

Turns out: a lot.

Working in content for years means I’ve been quietly collecting stories, frameworks, mistakes, and lessons.

This newsletter gave me a reason (and structure) to finally share them.

And what I learned?

Even the smallest day-to-day moments can become powerful stories, if you give yourself the space to write them.

3. Ideas come once you start writing

One of the most common question I had before starting was this:

“How do I come up with content every week?”

Truth is, I don’t always know the topic when I sit down to write.

But once I start reflecting on my week — what I worked on, what tools I tested, what conversations I had — something always surfaces.

You don’t need constant creativity.

You need a direction.

For me, that direction is sharing my process. The things I’d tell a friend over coffee chat, now written for many.

4. You don’t need it all figured out

You just need to start.

Every week helped me shape the system.

Every post gave me clarity on what this newsletter is and isn’t.

Your first issue doesn’t need a strict niche.

Your format can evolve.

Just pick a direction and hit send.

You’ll learn by doing.

That’s how everything good begins.

5. Momentum > Perfection

This one is for the overthinkers (hi, past me 🙋‍♀️).

You don’t need the perfect send time, perfect structure, or perfect copy every single week.

You do need to keep showing up.

The rhythm of writing consistently builds more than just content. It builds trust with your audience and confidence within yourself.

TL;DR?

You probably already have everything you need to start.

The stories, the value, the voice. It’s all there.

You just need a container for it.

For me, that was this newsletter.

Maybe for you, it’s a podcast. A YouTube channel. A TikTok channel. Or a blog.

Whatever it is, don’t wait until it’s perfect.

Start, and let it evolve.

See you next Friday,

Kate 🌟
