Hi friends 👋

Today I'm writing this from a sunny spot on my balcony! The first real sun after what like weeks of cold and wind. And honestly, it made me stop and just breathe for a second.

It's also a special Friday. Tomorrow marks exactly one year since I sent the very first issue of Content Backstage.

365 days later, and I'm still here 😄

Thank you for being here!

Tomorrow I'm traveling and I’ll just rewind for the weekend. Which means, I need to pack and this week's issue is going to be short. But I think it might be the most important reminder I can share.

Stop for a second and think about where you were 5 years ago.

Or 10. Or 15.

What did your life look like? What did you want it to look like?

Chances are, some of those things that felt like distant dreams back then, you've already achieved them. Maybe quietly, without celebrating or even noticing them.

That's the thing about being ambitious. You're always looking ahead at what's next, what's missing, what still needs to happen. And it's easy to constantly feel a little behind.

I do this too. All the time.

But when I sat in the sun today and actually looked back, not forward, I realized how much has changed. How much I've built. How far I've actually come.

You're probably further along than you give yourself credit for. Take a moment to actually see it. And maybe spend a weekend with yourself (or loved ones) and celebrate those achievements.

The same is true for your content. And for building your personal brand.

If you've been showing up consistently — publishing, posting, sharing your thinking — it probably doesn't feel like much on a day-to-day basis. Engagement is unpredictable. Growth feels slow. It's easy to look at your numbers and feel like nothing is working.

But your content is compounding quietly in the background.

People are reading who never comment. Potential clients are watching who haven't reached out yet. Every piece you publish adds another data point that says: this person knows what they're talking about, and they show up.

That's not nothing. That's actually everything, moving the needle forward.

So before you close this email and jump back into your to-do list: what's one thing (in life or in your personal brand) that your past self would be genuinely proud of?

Just let yourself feel it for a minute.

Next week I'll be back with something more tactical. But for now, enjoy your weekend, I'll be enjoying mine 🏖️

See you next week,

Kate 🌟
